When in Tucson, spend a day at the Mission San Xavier del Bac. Only a short drive south along Interstate 19 on the Tohono O'odham Reservation, you can expect a day of culture and enrichment, fabulous architecture, incredible history, delicious Native American food and great shopping.

Shopping

A gift shop offers both religious and native merchandise, including rosaries, crucifixes, dream catchers, desert jams and jellies, painted horses, books and stationary. If you don’t find what you’re looking for there, wander over to the Tohono O’odham shopping plaza across from the mission. Several shops offer jewelry and intricate besketry made by various Arizona tribes.

The mission is open year round from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and admission is free, but donations are accepted.
