St. Michael's Guatemala Project
The St. Michael's Guatemala Project began in 1993 with the help of CPR-Sierra (Communities of Population in Resistance of the Sierra).
The project was created in order to provide individuals with the health care they need/needed as a result of the 36 year civil war in Guatemala.
According to an official handout distributed by the St. Michael's Guatemala Project, volunteers have "delivered more than 250 pounds of donated medicines and supplies" from various organizations to help aid the project.
Gretchen Gibbs, a volunteer and an Information Technology Applications Specialist at the University of Arizona, said that anyone get involved with the program as long they have the stamina and drive to keep up with the rest of the group, and can listen and work efficiently with fellow volunteers.
