Samaritan Patrol

Samaritan Patrol, is a non-profit organization that helps migrants in need of medical care, educates the community about border issues, strives to maintain peace and compassion along the border, and encourages politicians to humanize the border policy.

According to the organization's brochure, "teams of 2 to 4 trained volunteers visit migrant routes to offer aid if needed. At least one person is a fluent Spanish speaker, and one has medical training. Teams carry water, food, emergency medical supplies (including a "baby bag" and "blister bag"), trip logs, communications equipment, and other aids."

In order to become a volunteer an individual must complete 3 to 6 hours of training, and is sent on his/her first trips with more experienced Samaritans.
