About Us
The University of Arizona's student-run online magazine, Border Beat, was established to explore and provide fresh perspectives on the people, places and issues of the U.S.–Mexico Border.
This semester, with Professor Jay Rochlin, a team of journalism seniors will bring you up to speed on all things border related, brought to life through creative stories, captivating photos, multimedia, and relevant blogs.
The primary goal of Border Beat is to introduce an original and creative angle to the information presented regarding the U.S.-Mexico border. Ideally this online publication will stand as an international resource for media, journalists and students alike.
The spring 2008 semester Border Beat staff includes: Sharon Bahr, Andi Berlin, Sarah Briggs, Mackenna Guest, Rachael Lieberman, Michael Mckisson, Brittany Pollock, Heather Raftery, Michael Ritter, Jenna Rogers, Lindsay Sparks.
If you are interested or have any questions about publishing work in Border Beat, please e-mail your completed story or potential story idea(s)to: borderbeat@gmail.com. See the "submission guidelines" link at the bottom of the page for more information.
Every year the publication will be on hiatus from mid-December through mid-January, as well as the beginning of May through the beginning of September.
