One of the best ways to learn about other cultures is through their own words. Hispanic authors write about their unique experiences, issues within their culture, and about the customs of their families, to name a few topics. These hispanic authors are particularly intriguing, either due to their noted success in the world of literature or to their unique perspectives about various topics.
Sandra Cisneros, a famous Mexican-American author, writes mainly short vinettes about various characteristics of Mexican families. She writes mainly from the perspective of the Mexican-Texas border.
Stephanie Elizondo Griest writes about her experience as a fourth-generation Mexican-American who gets in touch with her roots after being inspired by a guidance counselor to do so.
